Spice Up Your Life . . . in the Kitchen

There are plenty of reasons why we should all  improve our kitchen skills and get cooking, after all, “eating in” is the new “going out” . . . hell,  who can afford restaurant prices these days, and then there’s taxis, baby sitters, after dinner drinks. Just eating is becoming a little bit of a luxury these days, never mind dining out. Well, that’s why lots of people are deciding to do their socializing at home now, which, unless you’re lucky enough to be married to a trained chef means either cooking or ordering in pizza (which can be pretty expensive too). No, just stick to the cooking, there are plenty of great ideas and recipes for you to learn . . . step by step, as well as some rather professional looking techniques. You’ll be able to amaze your friends with your ability to slice, dice and Julienne (who invited her)?

You don’t have to slave over a hot stove for hours either, often a little preparation and a lot of patience is all that’s needed for something hot, nutritious and delicious. Mmmmm, I’m getting peckish now, wonder what I can rustle up for lunch?

Why not browse through our pages of delightful and mouthwatering (and often easy . . . hey, we’re not stupid you know) recipes and see what you can cook up to tantalize the tastebuds of your nearest and dearest. You know what they say, the way to a mans heart is through his stomach, and the way to a woman’s . . . well, you’ll just have to cook up something special and hope for the best, as long as you do the washing up you never know your luck!

First I used those ripped-out-of-the-newspaper or old index cards for my recipes. Then I used to have my satellite TV in my kitchen. Now I use my iPad. I just plunk the tablet down next to the oven, cover it with a bit of plastic wrap and have a go at it.  Go on, you know you want to, it’s just like having your very own personal cooking coach . . . in fact, it is having your very own personal cooking coach . . .

Try out some of these great recipe apps.

NEWSFLASH – we were going to include a special called “Cooking with Kids” but were told in no uncertain terms that we should use chicken like everybody else.
